How We Review
This page explains how we put a FailleGlam review together, what our scores mean, and what we do and do not claim.
Where our information comes from
- The brand itself. Specifications, prices, subscriptions, warranty terms and return policies, read in full, including the small print.
- Independent testing. Published results from independent testers and labs, where they exist.
- Long-term owners. What buyers report after months of use, from verified reviews, owner communities and complaint records such as the Better Business Bureau.
- Expert checks. Health, beauty and wellbeing claims are checked by the medical professionals on the team; furniture and home products by our designer and maker.
Our reviews are research-based. If a member of the team has used a product personally, the review says so. We never present research as hands-on testing.
What our scores mean
Each review is scored out of 10 across areas such as quality and build, design, value for money, durability, warranty and returns, customer service and delivery. The overall score is our editorial judgement across those areas, not an automatic average, and commission never affects it.
- 8.0 and above: excellent, and easy to recommend to the people it is designed for.
- 6.0 to 7.9: good, with trade-offs you should understand before buying.
- Below 6.0: significant problems; most people should look elsewhere.
Prices
When we can read a shop’s current price, we show it with the time it was last checked. Otherwise we show the price at the time of the review and label it that way. Always check the final price at the shop before you buy.
Who it is for, and who should skip it
No product suits everyone. Every review ends by saying who should buy, who should think twice and who should skip it, which is often the most useful part.
